rainyday is a nostalgic trio of classic electric pianos sampled to cassette tape through an array of gentle ribbon microphones in a backyard studio in olympia called the moon room. we added tremolo controls, an arpeggiator, and three wild noise generators inspired by the rainy climate of the pacific northwest that we call home. whether you’re recording a keyboard part for your new funk record, or scoring a film that’ll be shown around the world, rainyday will always sound human, analog, and real. it’s like you and a bunch of friends getting together to jam in a funky house venue while the rain gently tumbles down outside.

we’re really into making living interfaces and rainyday is no exception. we used ray-tracing and photogrammetry to capture the 3D likeness of each keyboard and the space itself, down to the carpet and the view out the window! featuring 4 mic signals, tremolo and envelope controls, an intuitive arpeggiator, and six powerful digital effects, rainyday is designed to disappear into your workflow and reappear in your mix as pure vibes. we hope it’s as fun to play as it was to build.
